    Benefits associated with gifts of securities

    • Take an income tax deduction of up to 30 percent of your adjusted gross income with any excess being carried forward for up to 5 years.
    • Avoid capital gain taxes that would have been incurred if you had sold the security.
    • Leave a lasting gift that will benefit future generations of students yet to come.

Gifts of long-term appreciated stock or mutual funds are an easy and tax-efficient way to give to Rowland Hall.


In order to secure the benefits of giving a gift of stock, you must have owned the securities for more than one year. Please see below for details on how to give a gift of stock:

Held by your broker: If your broker (or bank) holds your securities, your gift can be electronically transferred directly to our broker, Bill Gelegotis at Wells Fargo. Please instruct your bank or broker to contact Bill directly. He will then immediately sell the stock/funds and issue the school a check for the full amount.
