A unique experience in early childhood education
A veteran administrator, who has not lost the sense of wonder she hopes all young children experience in our school, talks about the unique learning environment that supports young learners. She also sheds light on the school’s philosophy of embracing and supporting diversity and creating a love of learning from the very start.

Learning life lessons within a competitive program
Named Athletic Director in 1999, Coach Tomsic is recognized as a leader in her profession, locally, regionally, and nationally. Her philosophy on running a competitive sports program makes clear her belief that the lessons students take with them off the field are the most important part of team play.

Reflections on the future, attending a private school, and diversity
Luz was born in Mexico, moved to California, and received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Utah. In the 2008 election, Luz won the Utah State Senate seat representing Salt Lake City’s District 1. As a Rowland Hall parent, Luz has added her voice to the conversation about private schools and diversity.

What it’s like to be a student at Rowland Hall
Having come to Rowland Hall from a public middle school, Amanda, now a junior, finds her goals for her own learning have become more defined, her love and experience of dance have continued and developed, and her connectedness to the world and its’ issues has become a commitment to make this world a better place.

Engaging students through relevant reading
This Middle School English teacher has written the book on making reading and writing more fun for students, and was cited by the U.S. Department of Education as the winner of a 2008 American Star of Teaching award. His Visiting Authors series is respected and shared throughout Salt Lake City schools, and his innovative methods have gained attention in national publications.

He is absolutely sure that Rowmark is the best program of its kind in the nation, and the statistics back him up. No other ski academy has integrated academics, athletics, host family living, a junior program and post-graduate program with such amazing success.
